The WA Government's Treebate program gives Western Australians a cash rebate of up to $150 for purchasing and planting a native tree on their property. Open to up to 10,000 residents per year for four years, the program is designed to grow Perth's urban tree canopy and green our neighbourhoods.
Who is eligible? Treebate is open to all Western Australians aged 18 and over, and every adult in a household can apply. Only 10,000 rebates are available each year, and applications close once that cap is reached, so it pays to act quickly.
Which trees qualify? Eligible trees must be native to Australia and have a canopy that reaches at least three metres in height at maturity. At Harbour Plants we stock a range of qualifying natives including large eucalypts and endemic tubestock, our staff can help you choose the right tree for your South Fremantle garden.
How to claim: it's as easy as One, Two, Tree: Buy a native tree from a local nursery, plant it on your property, then make a claim via the ServiceWA app. You'll need a photo of the plant label showing the scientific or common name, and a valid tax invoice as proof of purchase. You can view a full step-by-step video here.
A paper claim form is also available via the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation website. here
